WHAT IS PSATCWOT ?
PSATCWOT, aka Pattering Steps Among The Crushing Wheels Of Time, is a story which is posted on my site semi regularly. It's intended to be a long and slightly discontinuous work of fiction, separated into parts called Cycles. Each cycle tells its own story, and although a lot of cycles can be read as a standalone story, they still all fit together in a single storyline.
As said above, each cycle is its own self-contained story. They can be read in any order, however, even if they are mostly chronological. Each cycle serves as the deep lore of the next cycle : cycle 3 is the deep lore of cycle 4, and cycle 4 is the deep lore of cycle 5. Because of this, it's possible to read PSATCWOT both from oldest cycle to newest, or from newest to oldest.
If however you still want an "intended" order, then too bad. There is no intended order. You could read random pages after random pages and that would probably be very enriching.
And now, for a brief explanation of each cycle ! that way you can easily see which one interests you and which one you want to start with.
C0 : PROLOGUE
The prologue of psatcwot, this one is literally 4 paragraphs.
C1 : RED FIELDS
This cycle, written with the tone of an old and forlorn legend, tells of the creation of the universe and of the first war that started within it.
C2 : LAVENDER TOWER
About a year ago, a mall opened in the city. And now, that city is nearly abandoned... An unlikely duo pairs up, and decides to delve into the seemingly unending depth of the mall to solve its secrets.
C3 : DARK UNKNOWN
After a bursh with death, I've been having strange nightmares. Besides, strange creatures started appearing all over the sewers... I'll have to contact Lape to gett them to help me with that.
C4 : GOLDEN ICOSAHEDRON
Two hundred years since the near extinction of humanity, two shadows of the past fall from the stars to explore the land, and try to build a strong lasting peace between the warring faction of the Followers of Ubu, and the Army of the Sun.
C5 : IRIDESCENT DUST
In a land of eternal winter, an old traveller collects psalms from various farms, filled with insight on how to live, and to survive, in the frozen expense.
C6 : CRIMSON UNDERGROUND
Underground, in deep red cities, a soul awakens in a dark room. In a dark room, she finds a computer, and communicates with a robot named 21. Together, they will explore the caves, fight serpents, and try to find 21's creator.
C7 : WHITE LANDS
A theater play about cruel kings overthrown by their subjects.
C8 : BLACK CORRIDOR
Four strangers wake up in the greatest house. They learn to know each other, and to naviguate the maze. A tale of creation and destruction, and of broken dreams and shattered hopes.
C9 : outremer bureau
There's lesbians in this one. Can be read completely independantly from the rest of PSATCWOT.
C10 : NEON ARENA
OH WOWZIE a turnanent arc... YAY !!!!!!!!
about the frequency of the updates : before starting to release a cycle, i want to make sure it's finished. this is of course the writing process, but also the editing process. There may be some pauses of indeterminate length between cycles, but when a wywle starts, it's updated sdaily at the rhythm of a page per day (or, well, at least i try.)
